AN ACT ALLOWING CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE TEACHERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO PURCHASE CREDITED SERVICE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-183e of the general statutes be amended to permit a member of the teachers' retirement system to purchase credited service in said system for service as a teacher in the General Educational Development testing program or the Adult Basic Education program.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow teachers who worked in the GED testing program or ABE program to purchase service credit for the time they worked as certified teachers in the state in such programs.
