AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION TO ENSURE ADEQUATE STAFFING OF CORRECTION OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the sum of ____ dollars be appropriated to the Department of Correction from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, for the purpose of training four correction officer academy classes of not fewer than one hundred sixty candidates per class in order to ensure there is adequate staffing of correction officers during the 2016 fiscal year.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure the Department of Correction has the financial resources needed to maintain adequate staffing of correction officers during the 2016 fiscal year.
