AN ACT EXTENDING ENTERPRISE ZONE BENEFITS AND TAX EXEMPTIONS TO BUSINESSES IN CONNECTICUT'S CITIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to (1) extend enterprise zone benefits to any business located in or planning to locate in a municipality with a population greater than one hundred thousand that hires previously unemployed residents of those cities, and (2) offer ten years of property and corporate tax exemptions to such businesses.

Statement of Purpose: 

To stimulate economic development in Connecticut's largest cities and create local jobs.
