CANDELORA, 86th Dist. REP. HOYDICK, 120th Dist. REP. MINER, 66th Dist. REP. O'NEILL, 69th Dist. AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN CONTRIBUTIONS OR EXPENDITURES OF STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 155 of the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit any treasurer of a federal account, as defined in section 9-601 of the general statutes, of a state central committee from making a contribution or expenditure to, or for the benefit of, a candidate seeking a state public office; and (2) impose a civil penalty not exceeding three times the amount of any contribution or expenditure made in violation of this prohibition. Statement of Purpose: To ensure that state central committees keep state-candidate funds and federal-candidate funds properly segregated and to penalize any improper contributions or expenditures made by state central committees with federal funds for the benefit of state candidates.
