AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN EXPENDITURES PROMOTING THE DEFEAT OF A CANDIDATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any organization expenditure made on behalf of a candidate participating in the Citizens' Election Program that promotes the defeat of a candidate.
Statement of Purpose:
To impose a ban on negative advertising.
