AN ACT CONCERNING STATE OFFICE CANDIDACY AND SUBSEQUENT STATE EMPLOYMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit an unsuccessful candidate for state office who appears on a ballot for election to such state office from accepting state employment for a period of time after such election equal to the term of such state office.

Statement of Purpose: 

To prohibit unsuccessful candidates for state office from accepting state employment for a specified time.
