AN ACT LIMITING THE USE OF EXTRAPOLATION IN MEDICAID AUDITS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subdivision (3) of subsection (d) of section 17b-99 of the general statutes be amended to remove a provision allowing for the use of extrapolation in audits of any Medicaid provider with annual claims in excess of two hundred thousand dollars.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent the Department of Social Services from using extrapolation in setting penalties when no fraud is present.
