AN ACT REQUIRING JOB SEARCHES BY CASH ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require all adult applicants for cash assistance who are not exempt from work requirements to (1) conduct an initial job search prior to receiving such assistance, and (2) provide a list of potential employers contacted each week to the Department of Social Services.

Statement of Purpose: 

To create a record of evidence of employment inquiries for those applicants receiving state cash assistance.
