AN ACT LIMITING IMMUNITY FOR ATTORNEYS INVOLVED IN CIVIL AND FAMILY MATTERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that, if a party to a civil or family matter can demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that he or she has been harmed as a direct result of fraud or wilful misconduct by other counsel in such matter, such other counsel shall not be entitled to any level of immunity. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To limit the doctrine of immunity in cases of attorney fraud or wilful misconduct.
