AN ACT REQUIRING POWER-ASSISTED DOORS AT ELDERLY HOUSING COMPLEXES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2015) (a) For the purposes of this section, "housing authority", "housing partnership", "housing project" and "elderly persons" have the same meanings as provided in section 8-113a of the general statutes.
(b) Not later than January 1, 2017, each housing authority, municipal developer, nonprofit corporation or housing partnership operating a housing project for elderly persons pursuant to part VI of chapter 128 of the general statutes shall install and maintain automatically activated doors to provide access to any community room and laundry room in each housing project for elderly persons.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
