AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF THE PERMITTING PROCESS FOR MOTOR CARRIERS OF PROPERTY FOR HIRE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the Department of Transportation conduct a study of the current permitting process under chapter 245c of the general statutes, evaluating the regulatory interest in such process, and reporting to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation by January 1, 2016, with recommendations of how such process can be improved and with recommendations for statutory changes.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage greater competition in the household goods carrier industry.
