AN ACT EXEMPTING DISTRESSED MUNICIPALITIES FROM MONEY MATCH REQUIREMENTS FOR STATE EDUCATION GRANTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to exempt distressed municipalities, as defined in section 32-9p of the general statutes, from any money match requirements for state grants for education.

Statement of Purpose: 

To give distressed municipalities the opportunity to more readily apply for education grants by not requiring that they satisfy any money match requirement.
