AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF A COMMUNITY SERVICE REQUIREMENT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-221a of the general statutes be amended to require that no local or regional board of education shall permit any student to graduate from high school or grant a diploma to any student who has not satisfactorily completed a minimum of forty hours of community service.
Statement of Purpose:
To require each high school graduate to complete forty hours of community service prior to graduation.
