AN ACT REQUIRING CANDIDATE COMMITTEES TO FILE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS UP TO AND INCLUDING THE DAY OF THE ELECTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 9-608 of the general statutes be amended to require candidate committees to file the statements required under said section with the State Elections Enforcement Commission up to and including the day of the regular election.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide timely and relevant information to the public regarding campaign spending by requiring campaign committees to file financial disclosure statements for the seven day period preceding an election as well as the day of the election.
