AN ACT CONCERNING NURSE STAFFING IN HOSPITALS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-89e of the general statutes be amended to (1) require each hospital to post its annual nurse staffing plan on the hospital's Internet web site, (2) report and make available on its Internet web site the hospital's actual daily nurse staffing level for each patient care unit, and (3) require the Department of Public Health to develop a tool to be used by hospitals throughout the state to establish nurse staffing requirements for the hospital.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow greater transparency of nurse staffing levels.
