AN ACT CONCERNING THE REGISTRATION OF ASSAULT WEAPONS AND POSSESSION OF LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINES BY PERSONS WHO MOVE INTO CONNECTICUT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (d) of section 53-202d and subsection (d) of section 53-202x of the general statutes be amended to allow any person who moves into the state in lawful possession of an assault weapon or large capacity magazine to register the assault weapon or declare possession of the large capacity magazine to the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection before such person is required to permanently render such items inoperable, sell such items to a licensed gun dealer or remove such items from the state.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow any person who moves into Connecticut to register an assault weapon or declare possession of a large capacity magazine.
