AN ACT CONCERNING A STATE-WIDE RETROFIT NOISE BARRIER PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to include a noise barrier program as an eligible expense from the Special Transportation Fund. The program shall address noise relief for residences located up to three hundred feet from the travel lanes of an interstate highway, and shall include noise abatement due to the paving of an interstate highway.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect residents from excessive noise due to increased volume of traffic on interstate highways.
