AN ACT REDUCING THE APPROPRIATION FOR COMPETITIVE EDUCATION GRANTS AND INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE EDUCATION COST SHARING GRANT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to reduce the appropriation for competitive education grants by fifty per cent and to allocate the funds from such reduction to the appropriation for the education cost sharing grant.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the education cost sharing grant appropriation for purpose of providing more financial assistance to those school districts that do not have the resources to apply for competitive education grants from the state.
