AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEES FROM MAKING CERTAIN INDEPENDENT EXPENDITURES FOR THE BENEFIT OF A CANDIDATE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 155 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit political committees from making independent expenditures for the benefit of a candidate if (1) the candidate has solicited on behalf of such committee for the period of time preceding such candidate's formation of a candidate committee, and (2) such period of time is less than or equal to the term of public office for which the candidate is seeking election.
