AN ACT PROVIDING UNEMPLOYMENT TAX RELIEF TO EMPLOYERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to eliminate the earned income tax credit established in section 12-704e of the general statutes in order to use the funds saved to provide financial relief to employers assessed higher federal unemployment tax liability due to the 2014 benefit cost rate add-on.

Statement of Purpose: 

To relieve employers of higher federal unemployment tax liability by eliminating the earned income tax credit and using the savings to provide such relief.
