AN ACT ASSISTING STUDENTS ACCEPTED INTO THE DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS PROGRAM WITH THE COST OF COLLEGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to allow any student who has been accepted into the federal government's deferred action for childhood arrivals program to receive certain types of financial assistance for attending an institution of higher education in this state, including, but not limited to, assistance from the funds set aside by a constituent unit from the anticipated tuition revenue of the institutions of higher education under its jurisdiction that are used to provide tuition waivers, tuition remissions, grants for educational expenses and student employment for residents of this state enrolled as full or part-time matriculated students in a degree-granting program, or enrolled in a precollege remedial program who demonstrate extreme financial need. Statement of Purpose: To assist students accepted into the federal government's deferred action for childhood arrivals program with the cost of college.
