AN ACT CONCERNING A PLAN FOR THE CONNECTICORPS PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Labor Department to collaborate with the Board of Regents for Higher Education, The University of Connecticut and the Department of Economic and Community Development to develop a plan to implement a Connecticorps program that would assess the vitality of current employment programs, identify job sites in the state and conduct research regarding stipends, housing and healthcare options for state residents.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the quality of life for Connecticut residents by harnessing student energy, creativity and skills to support vital state and nonprofit employment programs.
