AN ACT CONCERNING PAYMENT OF THE COSTS OF CERTIFICATION FOR A POLICE OFFICER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 104 of the general statutes be amended to require police departments that hire police officers within two years of such officers' obtaining certification, as defined in section 7-294a of the general statutes, to reimburse the previous police department for the cost of obtaining such certification.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that municipalities be reimbursed for the costs of police certification when a police officer is hired by another municipality within two years of such certification.
