AN ACT CONCERNING VOLUNTARY REDUCTIONS IN CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM GRANTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to permit opposing candidates seeking the same elective office to voluntarily agree to accept half the full amount allowable to participating candidates for such office if each of the opposing candidates receives (1) half the aggregate dollar amount in qualifying contributions required of participating candidates for such office, and (2) the same quantity of qualifying contributions from individuals within the district required of participating candidates for such office.

Statement of Purpose: 

To permit candidates to mutually agree to receive only half a grant from the Citizens' Election Fund.
