AN ACT CONCERNING NOTICE TO PATIENTS OF COSTS FOR ROUTINE HEALTH SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 19 of the general statutes be amended to require health care providers to provide information to patients concerning standard costs for routine services such as office visits, diagnostic tests and common medical procedures.
Statement of Purpose:
To require health care providers to post standard and customary prices for routine services in order for health care insurance policyholders to better manage health care expenses, make informed decisions, compare prices and calculate their total copay, deductible or other financial cost.
