AN ACT CONCERNING THE INCLUSION OF INVESTIGATIVE DETENTION AND ARREST TO THE SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 10-16b of the general statutes be amended to include as part of the social studies curriculum for students in grades six to twelve, inclusive, instruction about investigative detention and arrest and to permit law enforcement officers to provide such instruction when appropriate. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure the safety of our children, the public and the police during instances of investigation and arrest by providing instruction on investigation and arrest to students.
