AN ACT CONCERNING REAL-TIME SUBMISSION OF ELECTION RESULTS TO THE SECRETARY OF THE STATE BY TOWNS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 148 of the general statutes be amended to require the Secretary of the State to implement, not later than the 2016 state election, a computerized system through which the election moderator of each town shall be able to immediately transmit electronically to said Secretary the results of the vote for each office contested at such election.
Statement of Purpose:
To permit election results to be reported by towns as early as possible.
