AN ACT REQUIRING COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION OF NEW RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES FOR OFFENDERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2015) The Commissioner of Correction, or the commissioner's designee, shall provide written notice to the chief elected official and chief executive officer of any municipality not less than thirty days prior to entering into an agreement between the Department of Correction and a provider operating a halfway house or other community residence to which the commissioner may release inmates, concerning the placement of such halfway house or other community residence in such municipality.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
