AN ACT CONCERNING GRANTS IN LIEU OF TAXES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 12-20a of the 2016 supplement to the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (e) as follows (Effective July 1, 2016):
(NEW) (e) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, real property owned by a private nonprofit institution of higher learning that is used primarily for primary and secondary education purposes shall not be eligible for a grant in lieu of taxes.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To specify that real property owned by a private nonprofit institution of higher learning that is used primarily for primary and secondary education purposes shall not be eligible for a grant in lieu of taxes.
