AN ACT ELIMINATING FREE TUITION FOR DEPENDENTS OF EMPLOYEES OF PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the inclusion in future collective bargaining agreements of provisions that permit dependents of certain employees of the public institutions of higher education to attend such institutions tuition-free.
Statement of Purpose:
To bring tuition costs under control by reducing the need to raise tuition and spreading such costs across a broader base of students.
