AN ACT REQUIRING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TRACKING SYSTEM TO HELP STUDENTS OF PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR CAREER PATHS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 10a of the general statutes be amended to require the creation of a tracking system that collects data regarding students of public institutions of higher education in the state, including, but not limited to, the percentage of students who enroll in remedial courses, the average time it takes a student to complete his or her degree, graduation rates, job placement rates in the students' chosen fields and average salary of graduates employed in such fields, for purposes of enabling prospective students of such public institutions of higher education to have realistic expectations or their employability and to make informed decisions about their intended career paths.

To help prospective students of public institutions of higher education make informed career choices.
