AN ACT INSTITUTING A FIVE-YEAR BAN ON SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BENEFITS FOR PERSONS CONVICTED OF DRUG FELONIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-105c of the general statutes be amended to institute a five-year ban on any person convicted of a drug felony from receiving supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits, provided such person's family members shall not be prohibited from receiving such benefits.

Statement of Purpose: 

To prevent drug felons from receiving supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits for a period of five years after their convictions.
