AN ACT REQUIRING MULTI-LINE TELEPHONES TO PROVIDE DIRECT ACCESS TO 9-1-1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 518a of the general statutes be amended to require any business firm, state agency or municipality that owns or controls a multi-line telephone system to configure such system so that a person initiating a 9-1-1 call can directly access the enhanced 9-1-1 service by dialing or otherwise accessing the three digits "9-1-1" without an additional code or digit. Statement of Purpose: To require business firms, state agencies and municipalities to configure their multi-line telephone systems so that a user may directly access the enhanced 9-1-1 service by dialing the digits "9-1-1" without an additional code or digit.
