AN ACT CONCERNING THE STATE BUDGET AND LEGISLATION IMPLEMENTING THE STATE BUDGET.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies and finance, revenue and bonding to (1) conduct public hearings on, and (2) vote to approve the proposed state budget and any proposed legislation to implement the state budget prior to enactment of such budget or implementing legislation by the General Assembly.
Statement of Purpose:
To require certain legislative committees to approve the budget and implementer bills prior to a vote by the General Assembly.
