AN ACT REQUIRING CENTRAL COUNTING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to require that all absentee ballots in a municipality be counted at a central location in a municipal facility, except that absentee ballots may be counted in the respective polling places when the registrars of voters in such municipality agree to their counting in the respective polling places.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that absentee ballots be counted at a central location in a municipal facility unless the registrars of voters agree to their counting in the respective polling places.
