AN ACT CONCERNING WAIVING BANK FEES FOR MEDICAID APPLICANTS SUBJECT TO ASSET TRANSFER REVIEWS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services, acting in consultation with the Banking Commissioner, to waive any bank fee assessed to a Medicaid applicant for a review by the Department of Social Services of any asset transfers made by such applicant in the five years prior to his or her application for Medicaid. Statement of Purpose: To reduce the financial burden on Medicaid applicants subject to a five-year look-back period for asset transfers.
