AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT THAT SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS BE PROVIDED IN CONNECTION WITH CERTAIN FAMILY COURT PROCEEDINGS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-137a of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the requirement that the Social Security number of any individual who is subject to a dissolution of marriage decree, dissolution of civil union decree, support order or paternity determination or acknowledgment be placed in the records relating to the matter.

Statement of Purpose: 

To eliminate unnecessary paperwork and provide cost savings to the state.
