AN ACT ELIMINATING THE FEE FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PURPLE HEART NUMBER PLATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 14-20b of the general statutes be amended to eliminate the fee charged by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles for the issuance of number plates recognizing veterans and members of the armed forces who belong to the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow veterans and members of the armed forces to obtain number plates recognizing the Military Order of the Purple Heart at no additional cost beyond the cost to register a motor vehicle.
