AN ACT REQUIRING WELLNESS CHECK-INS FOR PATIENTS WITH PRESCRIPTIONS FOR OPIOID ANTAGONISTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require patients who (1) have been prescribed an opioid antagonist, and (2) are recovering from addiction to opiates, to maintain wellness check-ins with their prescribing practitioner as part of their treatment for opiate addiction for a minimum of one year from the date of the original prescription.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require wellness check-ins for patients with a prescription for an opioid antagonist and recovering from opiate addiction.
