AN ACT REQUIRING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO VOTE ON STATE EMPLOYEE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 5-278 of the general statutes be amended to require each chamber of the General Assembly to vote to approve or reject collective bargaining agreements with state employee organizations and to provide that such agreements shall not become effective until approved by the General Assembly. Statement of Purpose: To require a vote by each chamber of the General Assembly on all state employee collective bargaining agreements and to prohibit such agreements from becoming effective until the General Assembly acts on them.
