AN ACT CONCERNING THE ASSAULT OF AN OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 952 of the general statutes be amended to provide an enhanced penalty for the assault of a reasonably identifiable off-duty police officer, provided such officer was not engaged in behavior that could reasonably be viewed as provoking such assault.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect off-duty police officers.
