AN ACT REQUIRING CERTAIN RETAIL FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS TO HAVE RECYCLING BINS ON THE PREMISES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require retail food establishments that sell food for consumption both on and off the premises and that also sell bottled or canned beverages to have recycling bins on such premises for such bottles or cans. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To increase recycling of bottled and canned beverages at retail food establishments, increase the overall waste diversion in the state and decrease the cost of waste management for towns.
