AN ACT PROHIBITING INSURERS AND OTHER ENTITIES FROM REQUIRING THAT INSUREDS DIAGNOSED WITH METASTATIC CANCER USE STEP THERAPY FOR ANY PRESCRIBED DRUG PRESCRIBED TO TREAT METASTATIC CANCER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any insurance company, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation, health care center or other entity delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing any health insurance policy or contract from requiring that insureds diagnosed with metastatic cancer use step therapy for any prescribed drug prescribed to treat metastatic cancer. Statement of Purpose: To prohibit insurance companies and other entities from requiring that insureds diagnosed with metastatic cancer use step therapy for any prescribed drug prescribed to treat metastatic cancer.
