AN ACT CONCERNING HOMICIDE BY SALE OF AN OPIOID CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to establish a crime of homicide by sale of an opioid controlled substance that results in the death of the person who purchased the substance from the dealer.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect the public by holding drug dealers liable for dealing drugs that result in the death of the user.
