AN ACT CONCERNING MALPRACTICE ACTIONS BROUGHT AGAINST PHYSICIANS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That sections 20-11b and 20-94c of the general statutes be amended to protect the personal assets of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse from being seized to secure a judgment obtained in a medical malpractice action if the physician and advanced practice registered nurse have complied with the statutory requirements concerning the purchase of professional liability insurance.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect the personal assets of a physician and an advanced practice registered nurse during a medical malpractice action when such persons have complied with the statutory requirements concerning the purchase of professional liability insurance.
