AN ACT CONCERNING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PARENTAL EQUALITY RIGHTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 46a-56a of the general statutes be amended to provide that there shall be no presumption in ordering disproportionate parenting time and parental responsibility to one parent that such an order is in the best interests of a minor child when both parents are capable and are seeking substantially equal or greater parenting time and responsibility, except that the court may order, based on the facts of the case, that the best interests of the child require that parenting time and parental responsibility be disproportionately awarded to one parent.
Statement of Purpose:
To establish parental equality rights.
