AN ACT CONCERNING THEFT IN ORDER TO EXCHANGE STOLEN ITEM FOR A GIFT CARD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 53a of the general statutes be amended by creating a new crime of larceny for when a person steals an item and then returns the item for a store credit gift card and then sells the card.
Statement of Purpose:
To create a new crime of theft.
