AN ACT PERMITTING PATIENTS TO INDICATE A CHOICE NOT TO RECEIVE OPIOIDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to allow patients to request that their medical records or chart reflect that they choose not to receive opioids unless a health care provider determines that there is an emergency that warrants the administration of opioids.

Statement of Purpose: 

To help patients have more control of their medicine.
