AN ACT REQUIRING "KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS" SIGNS ON THE MERRITT PARKWAY AND WILBUR CROSS PARKWAY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 248 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require an operator of a motor vehicle on the Merritt Parkway or Wilbur Cross Parkway to operate such vehicle in the right-hand lane and use only the adjacent lane for overtaking and passing another motor vehicle, and (2) direct the Commissioner of Transportation to place "Keep Right Except To Pass" signs on such parkways.
Statement of Purpose:
To require motor vehicle operators on the Merritt Parkway and Wilbur Cross Parkway to drive in the right-hand lane and use only the adjacent lane for overtaking and passing another vehicle.
