AN ACT CONCERNING THE FUTURE OF RETAIL IN CONNECTICUT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development shall conduct a study of the retail sector in the state, including (1) an examination of the amount of property taxes retailers pay to municipalities across the state, the amount of energy costs paid by retailers, and the effect of shipping costs on retailers and (2) a strategic plan for the future of the retail sector in Connecticut, including recommendations for how to provide property tax relief and assistance with energy and shipping costs to retailers in the state. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To examine and develop a strategic plan for the future of the retail sector in Connecticut.
